Frequently Asked Questions
What is assisted living?
Assisted Living is designed for individuals who need more day-to-day assistance than independent living. Not all assisting living is the same, though, so it’s important to ask questions when exploring your options. At Valley Care Management, our communities are carefully designed to be safe and home-like…and they offer a range of services from independent to intensive assisted living. With spectacular mountain views and spacious common areas, our communities allow residents to maintain their independence while providing loved ones with peace of mind, knowing the staff is always available to provide whatever support is needed. To learn more about our communities and how we can help your family, call us today to schedule a tour.
At an assisted living community, can you decorate your own room?
When a resident moves into an assisted living community, it’s important to feel like they’re at home. At Valley Care Management, all rooms are furnished with a bed, chest of drawers, chair and lamp. But residents are welcome to bring favorite furniture pieces from home and replace some or all of the furnishings. Residents are also encouraged to personalize their rooms to re-create the comforts of home. Additionally, most rooms at our communities can be occupied privately by one individual resident or can accommodate two residents in the same room – also known as a companion room. To learn more about our communities or to schedule a tour of our rooms, call us today.
What are the signs to look for to know it is time for assisted living?
The decision to help an aging loved one move out of a current home is a complex one, but there are signs that can help you make the right decision. Has your loved one suffered more frequently from falls or accidents? Have they had a slow recovery from a recent illness? Other signs include changes in eating habits, personal hygiene issues, and condition of the home. The holidays are a good time to notice other important signs. Is mail piled up? Is there stale food in the fridge? The good news is, you don’t have to make this decision alone. Call us today at Valley Care Management and let our friendly staff help you.
What is the cost of assisted living?
This is a frequently asked question. Arranging senior living can be difficult both emotionally and mentally. Adding in the consideration of cost can at first turn the situation from difficult to overwhelming. Finding affordable senior living may seem like facing an uphill battle, but don’t lose heart. At Valley Care Management, we offer affordable monthly fees that include room & board, personal care, medication administration or management, meals, housekeeping, laundry, planned activities, and cable ready rooms. We also accept long term care insurance and veterans benefits. Call us today at Valley Care Management and let us help you determine your needs and answer your financial questions.
What staff is on-site at an assisted living community?
Ensuring qualified and trained staff is always on duty gives a sense of security to family members who are often already feeling emotional and anxious about their aging loved one living in an assisted living community. Residents need help with living skills, such as bathing, dressing, medication management, personal hygiene, eating, and social engagement. At Valley Care Management, we provide 24-hour professional care through our dedicated team of licensed practical nurses, direct care aides, as well as housekeeping and dining staff. We also have a nurse on call 24/7 and a licensed administrator to assist in making our residents feel at home. To learn more about our communities or to schedule a tour, call us today.

•Emergency call system in all bedrooms and bathrooms

What is required for admission?
A simple history and physical performed by a physician and a tuberculosis (TB) screening, both completed within 30 days of admission, is a regulatory requirement. The physician will also need to supply us with prescriptions for all medications that need to be administered during your stay. We can provide the physician with the forms necessary. Other admission paperwork can be given to you in advance for your review and completion, such as the admission agreement and documentation.
Can I bring my own medications?
In order to maintain control over administration and availability of medications we work with a local pharmacy to fill all prescriptions as ordered by the physician. Deliveries are received on a daily basis and the pharmacy will submit a claim to your insurance on your behalf and bill you directly for any co-pays or deductibles that may apply. Our administrator will gladly discuss any extenuating circumstances that may exist.
Paying for Senior Care
If income will not cover the monthly fee, there are a few options to consider. We can bill long-term care insurance and there is the possibility of veteran and veterans spouses receiving assistance from the Department of Veterans Affairs.
